One can reach Alleppey by Air as the closest airport is located at Kochi, which is just at a distance of 66 kms. This place is well connected by Railways. There are regular bus services to Alleppey, and has well developed road network.
Local Transport
The travelers can get the buses which has yellow-top and there are tourist taxis, cycle rickshaws and tourist rickshaws.

Artungal Perunal is the festival of St. Andrews Forane Church at Arthunkal which is celebrated ones in a year in January, this festival continues for 10 days. This festival is conducted in the name of St. Sebastian. Thousands of followers visit here from different parts of the State.
Pathiramanal Beach
This is a small island of Pathiramanal, and is situated on the Backwaters. Many migratory birds come from far flung places to this beach.
Kuttanad
Kuttanad bears great similarity to Holland in terms of geographical features.
Chettikulangara Bhagwathy Temple
This temple has the deity of Goddess Bhadrakali who is considered to have immense power. Thousands of devotees come to the temple during the months of February and March.
Punappra
This village is at a short distance from Alleppey, there are numerous heroic struggles associated with this place which took place between the Travancore State Police and communists.

Ambalapuzha Temple
The Sreekrishna Temple is at a distance of 14 kms from Alleppey. The temple has beautiful architecture and 'Palpayasam' (sweet milk porridge), is offered here to the deity.
Krishnapuram Palace

The palace is situated at a distance of 47 kms, at Kayamkulam. This is a double storeyed palace and has many Mural panels in Kerala.
Mannarshala Temple
Mannarshala Temple which is at a distance of 32 kms from Alleppey covers an extensive area of 16 acres. There is dense lush green forest grove with lovely surroundings; this place is devoted to serpent worship. This temple has an unusual feature, the rituals and customs of the temple are performed by a priestess.
