Being a driver means being a professional on the road. Like any other occupation, the privilege of safe and authorized driving is given to those who have completed their tests and lessons. Eventually a proof of permission and special right is granted to those who are eligible to put their vehicles on the road. This special certification is what is known as a driverâs license.
A license is necessary for an individual to drive a vehicle in any public place. This should contain all the information of the person as registered in the transportation office. There are various classifications of driving license, each of these are valid evidences of permission, but of course, there are holding periods and levels of expertise which a person should have.
When we say a person possesses a Learner License, it means that the driver is just a student or one who is undergoing a course on driving. This is just temporary since it will only be valid for six months. On the other hand, if you are holding a Permanent License, it could mean that you already have renewed your learner license and after completing your course, eligibility to run on public roads is given permission to you.
If you want to get a learner license, you have to make your way to local government sector in your area that caters especially to transportation services, such as Land Transportation Offices or offices of Sub Divisional Police Officers. These offices are authorized to help any individual when it comes to driving concerns.
However, you should be eligible when applying for a learner license. Qualifications are given before you can obtain such license, like being 18 years old. But when you are just 16, parent or guardianâs written consent must be obtained. Also, if one is eyeing to be a commercial driver, he needs to be at least 20 years of age and is somehow familiar with the prevailing traffic rules and regulations.
Prior to your application, always have important documents at hand. Papers such as billing statements, insurance policies, passport, identity cards, pay slips, ID pictures and parentsâ consent, these will back up your residence and age information. There are some forms that you will complete for your medical and personal identifications for the license as well. Also, donât forget to be ready with your cash for the application fees. When you have completed all the requirements, you will then take tests as conducted by authorities. After around three days, when you have successfully passed the exams, you will be given your learner license.
As in the case of permanent license, this is possible after you have acquired a learner license and this is applicable within 180 days from the date of its issuance. The same procedures apply, only add to your list the original learnerâs license and other forms which you will need to accomplish. Upon granting of your permanent license, remember that for most cases, the validity given for Non-Pros is 5 years and 3 for Professionals. After such, a driver is held responsible for the renewal of his license.
